Chapter 7 · 7.3
The digital business card (email package)
An email package doesn't come with a website. Even so, we don't leave visitors to your domain staring at a blank page: your domain shows a digital business card. You fill it in yourself, so anyone who types in your domain name can see straight away who you are and how to reach you.
Please note: the business card only comes with an email package (Email One through to Email Four). With a web hosting package, your own website appears on your domain and you won't see this card.
Where do you find it?
Go to My Products and open your email package. On the product page, you'll find the Digital business card card. Your package must be active and have a domain name.
Filling in your business card
The card has five sections. On the right, you'll see a Live preview that updates straight away.
| Section | What do you fill in? |
|---|---|
| Profile | Name (required), Job title, Description, a Profile photo and a Logo |
| Contact details | Phone, WhatsApp, Signal, Email, Website and Address |
| Social media | Links to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, Mastodon, Bluesky, GitHub and TikTok |
| Custom button | A Button text and a Button link, for example to your calendar or webshop |
| Style | Card style Dark or Light, and an Accent colour |
A photo or logo can be a JPG, PNG or WebP of up to 8 MB. We'll create a compact version of it ourselves. If you fill in a button text, make sure to fill in the button link too.
Publishing
- Click Save and publish. Your card then appears on your domain straight away.
- Below the button, you'll see when you last published it. Use View your card to open it.
If your domain doesn't point to our servers (yet), you'll see the message Your domain does not point to us yet. If you've just registered or transferred your domain, that's normal: the DNS is still being updated and it can take a few hours before your card is visible. If your domain deliberately points to another provider, the card will stay invisible until you update the A record. You can read how to change DNS records in Managing DNS: adding, editing and deleting records.
Removing your business card
Use Remove business card to take away your own details. After your confirmation, the standard WebOké card will appear on your domain again.
Tip: would you rather have a real website on your domain? Then you'll need a web hosting package. You can change your package, see Changing your package (upgrade or downgrade), or have a website built with the AI Builder, see AI Builder: having your website built for you.
